Stay on Replit
Staying on Replit is lowest friction if you're already paying.
Render
Free web services (they sleep) and free static sites if you move off Replit.
What Replit gives you
Any language; Agent often builds Node/React or Python apps with a Replit database.
Built-in hosting
Publishing is built in. Static deployments are free (you pay for data transfer); Autoscale and Reserved VM are billed by usage.
- Free: Starter: one free published app, which goes down after 30 days, with a 'Made with Replit' badge.
- Custom domain: Paid plans; Core is $20/month ($18/month billed annually).
First: which kind of project do you have?
| Type | How to tell | What the host needs |
|---|---|---|
| Static site | Build produces a folder of files (dist/ or build/). | Replit Static deployment or any static host. |
| Web server | Runs a server process (Express, Flask, FastAPI…). | Replit Autoscale/Reserved VM, or Railway / Render. |

Gotchas
- Replit-specific databases and auth won't work outside Replit; plan a swap (e.g. to Neon or Supabase) before moving.
- Replit's prices (Aug 2026): Autoscale $1/month base + $0.60 per million compute units + $0.40 per million requests; egress $0.05/GiB.
